I blog more when the kids aren't around. Usually out on the deck as that's where I find peace and quiet. I sit so that whoever comes out the back door can see straight away what I am looking at. As I live in a small unit the computer is in the living room. This means the TV is on and you get distracted by what is on around you. I am one of those people who finds it very hard to get in the zone and any minor distraction is enough to break my concentration. I have tried putting my headphones on and listening to music as I do at work but it is normally not enough. As a result my design projects become non existent and I get very frustrated with myself for wasting time browsing through websites when I could be getting on with projects that I want to do but need focus. Really the only solution is a space of your own that you feel comfortable being in away from all distractions. I have the exact same problem…. minus the kids.
